Anyhow, one of the things that surprised me a lot, is that most of these schools teach english during the hole school years, and the demand of external courses after that is huge! by that I mean that people just get out from school without learning any english at all, and when time comes and they have to face reality by getting to read papers in english only many few of them really can! In my country it’s almost certain that you’ll learn good english because it’s major utilites in a globalized world! Plus most web pages are in english, the good ones I mean… haha

Young people here go to school mostly in uniforms that they are all very a like. Girls wear a thing called “jumper” that is a blue one piece shirt-and-skirt thing. Boys usually goes with a shirt and a pair of black trousers. Really simple right?

Anyhow, just wanted to share that. Bests.

A very good place to start is the neighborhood called “Providencia” or “Providence”. This place is almost one of the well-knowned working/businesss/living area in Santiago. It’s just great because you have this really nice mixture between offices/departments and little food restaurant that go full at the afternoon, I mean, you almost everything around because is the major “daily paperwork” place to go. Banks, food, gyms, little business are located there so it’s usaully crowded but very slick and nice to walk through.

From any Hotel you should get to the core of Providencia to the Lyon subway station. Get down there and walk upwards on the street for about 3 to 5 subway stations ahead, this way you’ll get to see mostly all the commerce and people that works there. Try getting into the little streets in between to take a look to the curious places. I would specially recommend, eating at a restaurant called “Liguria” (very well-known over here) thats located on close to the Tobalaba subway station. They serve very good food and the place is just awesome!

As you go upwards on the main street, Providencia, you’ll find the other business center called “El Bosque”. This is more like a classy business strip, but offers a lot of nice places to check out, like the huge buildings and stores around them.

Hopefully I’ve tempted you to go check this things out. So whenever you have sometime left, try getting out of the hotel and walk over this very nice part of Santiago.

When I was little, my family and I used to go to Marrito Hotels in Florida, during our vacations on Orlando. They were just great!, awesome hotels, and aewsome service. Well, let me tell you that recently I went for a trial session on the Marriot Hotels in Santiago (Chile). As a part of a big chain of hotels, I didn’t expected less on quality and comfort.

The hotel was just great. It’s a very luxurious hotel with great service since the moment you touch the floor door. It’s funny cause usally you’ll se two guys looking up for you in order to help you as much as ther can. I went there with 2 bags (one luggage and one backpack) and as soon I entered the hotel, this two guys came up and one took very politely my backpack and the other one my big luggage, both of them started following me whereas I went, it was really fun!.

When I finally got to the room, everything was just so clean and shiny that I almost felt bad about even falling down into my bed. Everything so very well placed in order, the room just standed out for being so clean and organized, almost as if they went through a huge study or something on cleaning topics.

The part I liked the most was when they offered me to try room service, so I called some friends to come and see my hotel room and requested a huge amount of food and drinks (paided by the house), amazingly they came up in a blast, even faster than my freinds got the room, and as the room everything was taken care off, the food was shiny and fresh, and of course delightful!

So if you ever come to Chile, and you have a little extra money for a good hotel, Marriot is always a very good choice. The hotel is located on a very nice city area close enough to most parts of Santiago.

One of my favorite places to get calm and think is defintely the beach. I always tell my friends that if I could get the beach and city (my two big nice places to live in) together I would be eternally happy (my native city was like that, so I suppose is because of that).

In Chile they have a ver nice beach (without too much of a city) called: Pichilemu, the title of this post recomends not to say it too loud because american people usually pronounce it getting the “pichi” part higher than the “lemu” part…so it really sound (in spanish I mean), if like you’re saying “pee” haha. Anyhow, this place it’s just awesome. It has really nice beaches, although the water is very very cold, but their very nice and the sand it’s kind of dark so it gives you a rare good feeling.

Pichilemu is most known for it’s surfing, Jack Johnson usally comes here to get a ride… so invitation is on the table. See ya their!

My ambitions as a professional relies on that matter, of continuously being curious about many subjects and getting to relate them as far as they may seen, that my freind it’s pure creativity that every marketer should have. In other aspects, I think I would like to continue knowing the world, it doesn’t ends here where I live and I’ve just made my first step on going forward my dreams (by that a mean, moving from Peru to Chile and then living in the US for four months).

So I live in a very pleasant nighborhood, it’s kind of away from the city but at the same time quite close. In the valley where Santiago is located we have a lot of parts that are besides and over the river along the city is builded in. So my house is located in the calmed side of the river where the city and business are very close (almost 4 to 6 blocks away) but you don’t get a any noise from it. Kind like a castle, because when you want to go shopping or “to village” you just ask for the pleberians to get you down the bridge and cross the river that separates you from the city (haha). So it’s a really really cool nighborhood, lot a trees, slick and clean streets, and ver calmed weather. You may also find a little park near us usually filled with kids and dogs playing around. It’s really cute.

Their debut was around the same time as I recall, and they made modding and tunnning cars popular along the U.S. Also brought a huge tunnner passion here in Chile and as I’ve heard also in Peru.

The first one is about a retired car theif that comes back to scene to save his little brother mess up (apple doesn’t falls too far from the tree right?). Cool thing is thought, that this guy (Nicolas Cage), he used to boost cars just for the fun of it, he didn’t do it for the money, he just liked running fast cars through the strips of L.A. where the movie takes place. It’s a really good movie, and I recomend you to buy it on blue-ray and a hopefully enjoy it in a huge hi-fi system to hear all the great car noises, specially in the Porsche and Ferrari scenes.

In the other hand, and being a little more into the tunning cars, you have this other great movie called “Fast and Furious”. the movie is all about street racing giving you an inside scoop on the racing and gambling done with tunned cars. The movie is all about getting to a group of black honda civics that chase loaded trucks of diverse merchandise and steal their content through an amazing ambush and blasting movements with them. It’s also a really great movie since it takes a while and a deeper look to the street racing underworld.

Conclusions:

Both of them are really good movies to watch. Nevertheless I rather rent Gone in 60 Seconds just because of the feeling of it. I think the magic in that movie is hearing the amazin Eleanor Mustang sound during the chasing scenes. Fast and Furious it’s good too, but sometimes it’s just too off reality.

So, the job this time consisted in, teacher gave us the text lines that had to go on the ad (mandatory) and we had to create the concept and graffics for it. The result is right next after finishing this words… enjoy.

“Good Copy, Bad Copy” is an excellent medium lenght documentary about that topic (digital copyrights managements), that explains very well how our generation is doing great in terms of creativity but (apparently) doing awful for lawyers and business man in the “showbiz”. Interesting thing is that they believe making the road more heavy, will stop us from “sampling”, awful. Anyhow, here is a little preview from youtube (you didn’t here it from me) that you can check out.
Also, the movie is completely free to download, remix, distribute, copy, etc. Just get through your favorite bittorrent client.
